Proposed Rule Changes: Attached in both Word and PDF format is the proposed rule changes that are being considered by the Structural Pest Control Commission’s Rules Committee. This committee has held one meeting already and will meet again on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the LDAF building on Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge. One major change is to the current rules on WDIR, page 20. Please review these changes very closely as they may change the way your company currently does business.

The spring workshop will be held at The Oaks at Sherwood located at 1655 Sherwood Forest Boulevard  Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
Fees are $35 for members and $55 for non-members.
Must be paid at before the class starts. We are accepting payment at the door.
Registration begins at 7:30. Breakfast is provided.
Participants must stay for the entire workshop to receive credit from the La Dept of Agriculture.

Structural Pest Control Commission Rules Committee: On Tuesday, March 20, the Structural Pest Control Commission Rules Committee will meet in the Auditorium at LDAF. This meeting is scheduled to discuss a variety of topics that affect your business. Below is an agenda for this meeting.
 

Our next general meeting will be held at The Oaks of Sherwood. Cocktails start at 6:00pm and the meeting will begin at 6:30pm. Our guest speaker will be Sydney Chaisson with Chaisson Building Inspection Services. He is an expert in his field and will share insights on those items that merge with our industry.

The February board meeting will be at 12:00pm at the office of the Louisiana Pest Management Association. their office is located at 3042 Old Forge Dr., Suite C  Baton Rouge, LA 70808, and the meeting starts at 12:00pm.

NPMA NATIONAL CONVENTION: We are very excited that the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is holding its national convention in New Orleans Convention Center in October. Since our own member, Laura Simpson of Dugas Pest Control in Baton Rouge, is the President-Elect for this organization, we would like to have a big turn-out from Louisiana. NPMA has gone out of their way to help make this as easy as possible. Thursday, October 20 has been designated “Louisiana Day”. For a special one day rate, members from Louisiana may attend the convention.
