July 2010

Letter from the President

July is here, and I hope it the first six months of the year have been good to all of our members. We know that we are facing some potentially tough times with the uncertainty of our state due to the BP oil spill and the repurcussions from the restrictions and economic impact. It is important, maybe now more than ever, that we remember our community and our culture. It is for that reason that I selected the location of our July general meeting to be held at Ralph & Kacoo's, a locally owned seafood restaurant with a long history of ties to this region. Our state is made up of some of the most tenacious and resiliant citizens this nation could ever know. We will persevere, survive, and succeed.

Don't forget that we will be voting on a proposed by-law change to how the office of president is selected. (See below) I strongly encourage all voting members of the association to vote for this proposed change, and I look forward to seeing all of you for dinner.

Note: It is great to see Gerard Laborde (The Bug Man) up and around. He gave us quite a scare, but he is back in the swing of things and doing well.

Please remember that if there is anything I can do for any of you, do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Frank P. Caluda

President 2010
