Greater Baton Rouge Pest Control Association

NPMA NATIONAL CONVENTION: We are very excited that the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is holding its national convention in New Orleans Convention Center in October. Since our own member, Laura Simpson of Dugas Pest Control in Baton Rouge, is the President-Elect for this organization, we would like to have a big turn-out from Louisiana. NPMA has gone out of their way to help make this as easy as possible. Thursday, October 20 has been designated “Louisiana Day”. For a special one day rate, members from Louisiana may attend the convention. We will start out the morning with a Louisiana only breakfast and then attend the Opening General Session which will include our President, Floyd Simpson, introducing Commissioner of Agriculture, Mike Strain, for some welcoming remarks. This will be followed by a keynote address by General Russel Honore, best known for his leadership following hurricane Katrina. During the rest of the day, which will include lunch, you can attend any of the educational sessions scheduled, featuring many nationally known speakers, visit the exhibit hall to see products and services that are not usually seen in Louisiana. The day will conclude with a private reception for folks from Louisiana. I have included flyers with information about Louisiana Day. NPMA is also offering a reduced, member rate to anyone from Louisiana that wants to attend the entire convention. GNOPCA GOLF TOUNAMENT: Each year, the Greater New Orleans Pest Control Association holds a golf tournament. This year, we have combined this annual tournament with the NPMA Convention in New Orleans. The tournament will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at the TPC Louisiana golf course, the home of the professional Zurich Classic. The fee is $125. and will include fun and entertainment.
 
LICENSEE RECERTIFICATION: We have three Licensee Recertifications scheduled between now and the end of the year. We will be in Lafayette on October 4, Houma on November 14 and Kenner on November 15.
