February 2010 Newsletter

Letter from the President:

Well, February is here and here with a bang. Or at least a nice snowfall. Who'd have thought we would have snow in February here in the Capital Region? Then again the Saints won the SuperBowl. WHO DAT!!!

With that behind us, we turn our attention to Mardis Gras and swarm season. Who know's what the season will hold. We have had some great rain and it has been a cold winter, so we can only wait and see.

Membership Drive

Board Members Donnie Smith and Lisha Rabalais, and Vice President Steve Chiek are spearheading a drive to increase membership and participation within the association. We have a lot to offer PCO in our district and look forward to seeing more of the local PCO's join the association.

Alate Study Sites Needed

Dr. Gregg Henderson from the LSU AG Center is looking for 4-5 additional sites to house the light traps for his Alate Study in the Greater Baton Rouge area. Please contact him via email at grhenderson@agcenter.lsu.edu or call him at 578-1643 if you can assist

General Meeting

We are in the planning process for the next general meeting which will be held on March 16th. We will send out the detail once they are finalized.
